Before reading
- Look at the cover. What do you see?
- What animals do you know?
- What colour is a bear?
After reading
- What colour is the bird?
- Which animal did you like best?
- What do you see in our classroom?
How to teach it
- Open the PowerPoint. Ask the "before reading" questions and teach the new words with the flashcards.
- Hand out one flashcard per child. Read the book aloud. Children hold up their card when they hear their word.
- Practise the sentence pattern together, then play the picture game in the slides.
- Ask the "after reading" questions.
- Finish with the printable project: Colour the Animals.
