Before reading
- Look at the cover. What do you see?
- Do you have a teddy bear?
- Where do you buy toys?
After reading
- What was the bear missing?
- Where did he look for it?
- Who took him home? How did he feel?
How to teach it
- Open the PowerPoint. Ask the "before reading" questions and teach the new words with the flashcards.
- Hand out one flashcard per child. Read the book aloud. Children hold up their card when they hear their word.
- Practise the sentence pattern together, then play the picture game in the slides.
- Ask the "after reading" questions.
- Finish with the printable project: A New Home for the Bear.
