- Look at the cover. What do you see?
- Where do ducks live?
- How do we cross the road safely?
After reading
- Where did the ducks want to live?
- Who helped them cross the road?
- How many ducklings were there?
How to teach it
- Open the PowerPoint. Ask the "before reading" questions and teach the new words with the flashcards.
- Hand out one flashcard per child. Read the book aloud. Children hold up their card when they hear their word.
- Practise the sentence pattern together, then play the picture game in the slides.
- Ask the "after reading" questions.
- Finish with the printable project: Stop for the Ducks!.
